Shahid Kapoor gets injured!

shahidworkout.jpg
Shahid Kapoor seems to be going through workout woes - the actor sustained four injuries while training.
"4 injuries while training this week lil finger ankle wrist n bak ... But no excuses ... Learn to dance in the rain," tweeted Shahid.
The actor is gearing up for his next release, Kunal Kohli's Teri Meri Kahaani.
Meanwhile, he has reportedly filed a police complaint against Vastavikta Pandit, daughter of legendary actor Raaj Kumar, for stalking him.

Emraan won't ape Salman for 'Jannat 2'

Prolific filmmaker Mukesh Bhatt recently commented that 'Jannat 2' is one of their biggest 'masala' films till date and comes with an immense entertainment quotient. Though one started wondering whether this Emraan Hashmi starrer would join the likes of many other commercial massy films (read 'Ready', 'Singham', 'Bodyguard', 'Agneepath' to name a few) that have released in the recent times and turned out to be smash box office successes, director Kunal Deshmukh comes in it's defence and says that 'Jannat 2' would maintain it's own identity.
"Brand Mahesh Bhatt has certain characteristics to it and all us students are still learning and trying to adapt", says Kunal who has earlier made 'Jannat' and 'Tum Miley' for the makers, "When you watch a Bhatt film, you expect spine chilling moments, drama, wonderful music and some great performances. We won't be caught making mindless entertainment. In fact I or for that matter anyone working with Bhatts can ever make a full on 'masala' film. One of the examples that come to my mind is 'Ready'. Personally I have nothing against the film but sorry, I don't think I can do something like that."
Given the fact that both Emraan as well as Salman are considered as men for the masses, we look forward to how entertainment takes shape in 'Jannat 2'. Also starring Randeep Hooda in a crucial role, the film releases all over on 4th May.

Bollywood is full of politics: Sameera Reddy

sameerareddynice1.jpg
By Hindustan Times
Sameera Reddy who made a comeback in Bollywood with Priyadarshani's Tezz, says she is happy doing South films and explains why she left Bollywood before the industry could abandon her, reports Rediff.
Sameera Reddy shares that Bollywood is full of politics and one should leave the industry if one can't play the game. The 29-year-old is well satisfied with her South career. "When you are a queen in your own country, why would you want to go anywhere else?" actor tells Rediff.
Talking about her role in Tezz, Sameera explains to the website: "I have done the most difficult scene any girl has ever done on screen. It is a very important bike scene. I had to go through intensive training before pulling it off because we couldn't cheat the audience by using a body double here."
The actor also told Rediff: "In one scene, I'm being chased by cops and have to jump into a river. I remember the temperature was two degrees and we were freezing like ice cubes. I had to get in the river with two huge bags, go underwater for like 20 seconds, and dive away from there".
In Priyadarshan's Tezz, Reddy plays a bad-ass antagonist chased by law-enforcer Anil Kapoor's choppers and bullets.

Naseeruddin Shah to shed kilos for 'John Day'

Naseeruddin Shah

Actor Naseeruddin Shah is losing weight for his character in upcoming film 'John Day'.

The 61-year-old actor is all set to play a common man seeking revenge in the film and will go young for few flashback sequences.

Director Solomon Ahishor didn't want too much of special effects on his looks hence Shah decided to work on his body to have a naturally slim appearance.

"There is a portion in the film where Naseer saab will to look 30. Being a thorough professional, he wanted to know how real he could look. And after a few intensive discussions, he was convinced. For a look test, we ordered a special wig. With makeup and some special effects, we were able to achieve what we wanted. He is busy losing weight," Ahishor said.

Produced by Anjum Rizvi and K Asif, the film has an ensemble cast with Shah, Randeep Hooda, Shernaz Patel, Salim Ghouse and Vipin Sharma in key roles.

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon Renew Their Vows in Paris—How Many Times Is That?

Mariah Carey, Nick Cannon
Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon are a couple of vow-renewin' fools!
Ahead of their fourth anniversary on Monday, the dream lovers have taken advantage of their romantic Parisian surroundings and renewed their wedding vows—something they've done every year since doing it the first time, making this their fifth time saying "I do"!
Take a moment to get that straight while we gather the details.
"Mariah and Nick renewed their vows at the summit of the Eiffel Tower in an intimate ceremony after a romantic dinner at the beautiful Jules Verne restaurant," Carey's rep tells E! News, noting that they did the deed at around 12:30 a.m. Paris time.
Clad in a white mermaid gown worthy of a newlywed, Carey posed for pictures—including one of a mock proposal that we assume she accepted—with her hubby in front of a view that boasted the Eiffel Tower front and center.
Carey posted a photo of them on Twitter shopping for "dem babies'" first birthday (Monroe and Morrocan turn 1 on Monday, just as mommy and daddy's marriage turns 4!) at Baby Dior, and she and Cannon were also spotted at the Louis Vuitton flagship store.
Though Cannon's rep said she couldn't comment on what the couple were up to in the City of Light, Carey promised a pal that she and her hubby had "put together some very festive plans."
"If you were married to Mariah Carey, you'd want to marry her every year too! I just have to keep doing it to make sure it's real," Cannon told Us Weekly on the occasion of their second anniversary (and third vow swap).

Prince William and Kate Middleton's One-Year Anniversary: How Are They Celebrating?

Prince William, Duke of Cambridge and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton
Should we be preparing for another royal wedding-esque extravaganza this weekend?
On Sunday, Prince William and Kate Middleton will be celebrating their first wedding anniversary (can you believe it's already been a whole year?!), and we're guessing there's gonna be some huge event taking place.
So cue the trumpets, shut down the streets and bring out your craziest most exquisite hats because it's (royally) going down...again!
Right?!
Wrong.
Remember when the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge decided to lie low for a while and just enjoy their newlywed time? Well, that seems to be sticking.
A royal source tells E! News that the couple are going to spend the weekend celebrating their anniversary in private. They have no public appearances next week so they will have an extended period of time out of the spotlight.
A source also tells us that Will and Kate will be at a private event for a friend this weekend at an undisclosed location, and then will be returning to Anglesey by the end of the weekend.
But don't let that stop you from busting out the tea and crumpets on Sunday, you can still party in their honor. We're sure they would appreciate it.

Justin Bieber's Believe Album Cover—Check It Out!

Justin BieberJustin Bieber, Believe cover
Can you Believe it?!
Everyone suffering from Bieber Fever, beware! Justin Bieber tweeted his album cover for Believe tonight and, as usual, his swag makes you wanna sit by the fire while eatin' fondue.
"Here is the #BELIEVEalbumCover standard version," he tweeted.
So, what are you waiting for?! Take a look:

Bieber then followed up with a second tweet that included a sepia-toned version of the same image, "and this is the DELUXE #BELIEVEalbumCover - #52DAYS - excited? expect the unexpected."
The album cover features Biebs' boyish-yet-grown-up face looking over his shoulder (at you if you stand to the right a bit) with a golden banner that says "Believe." Inspirational, right?
It's super simple and yet it works so well.
Now all we have to wait for is the full version of the "Boyfriend" music video to come out, which feels like forever.
Gosh, who knew J.B. was such a tease?

Jennifer Love Hewitt Feels Like "Total Fool" for Revealing Adam Levine Crus

Jennifer Love Hewitt, Adam Levine
Jennifer Love Hewitt's recent Adam Levine crush confession got more attention than she bargained for.
And the 33-year-old actress is definitely not too thrilled about that.
Now, she's taken to Twitter to express her regret over her revelation.
First a recap. Last week on Ellen, Hewitt said she's got her eye on newly single Levine, and then remarked to E! Online about her desire to "massage him." Appearing on Ellen this week, The Voice coach responded that he was "flattered," but also noted that her gesture was "aggressive."
Is that a bad thing?
Either way, that led to The Client List star tweeting today, "The moment when you make a comment about something or someone and the world makes you feel like a total fool."
And continued with, "Am I dating? Am I crushing? No! I'm directing The Client List season finale!;)...Thank you to  for being so gracious on Ellen about my crush heard round the world. I've learned a lesson.."
We hope she changes her mind about keeping quiet because, well, that's just no fun for us.

Happy Birthday, Jessica Alba! Spy Kids Star Turns 31

Jessica Alba
No, there won't be any birthday-inspired ink for Jessica Alba.
But the celeb mom will definitely be celebrating her 31st birthday tonight with some pretty fancy guests. And when we say fancy, we're talking President Barack Obama-type fancy.
Oh yeah, she's not playing around.
Alba had exclusively told E! News that she will be spending her special day at the White House Correspondents dinner.
"I'm going to be in [Washington] D.C. on my birthday," she said. "I'm going to go for the White House Correspondents dinner. They don't know that they're throwing me a big dinner birthday party, but they are, secretly."
Now how sweet would it be if the Obamas busted out a surprise cake and sang for Jessica?!
Ahem, we're just sayin

Happy Birthday, Penélope Cruz! Nine Star Turns 38

Penelope Cruz
Yes, we know. Penélope Cruz doesn't look a day over 25.
But believe it or not, this saucy Spanish actress and mom to 15-month-old son Leonardo turns 38 today.
Now if only we could figure out her secret...
Aside from being outrageously beautiful to the point where it's almost annoying, Javier Bardem's wife continues to grace us with her presence on the big screen, and most recently—a PETA ad.
Cruz went bare (kinda) for the organization's no fur campaign, and although we couldn't see her full bod, she still managed to bring the sex appeal.
Meanwhile, the 38-year-old has been working on Woody Allen's romantic comedy To Rome With Love alongside Ellen PageJesse Eisenberg and Alec Baldwin.
Here's to hoping she takes some time out to enjoy her special day with her special loved ones.

Dancing With the Stars Backstage Scoop: Who Called Out Len Goodman?

Jaleel White, Kym Johnson, Dancing with the Stars
It was time to get down with Motown on Monday night's Dancing With the Stars!
There was plenty of shimmy, shake and smiles, but not everyone was happy with their critiques. So who felt slighted by the judges' comments and wasn't afraid to let us know exactly how they felt about it? The stars spilled to us exclusively after the show...
It seems this season of Dancing With the Stars is flying by. With only eight contestants left, everyone is giving their all to stay out of the bottom two and avoid the season's newest twist: the dance duel.
One couple who was not so stoked about their dance evaluations was William Levy and Cheryl Burke. Their rumba fell flat with judge Len Goodman, but Cheryl gave us the inside scoop on why they didn't get an enthusiastic response.
"Len just hasn't had sex in years," she tells us. "Joking! Just joking, Len!" Yowza!
Roshon Fegan and partner Chelsie Hightower took the brunt of the harsh comments and vented their frustration to us backstage. "We got smacked around," Roshon says. "We got beat up a little bit."
"We're definitely a little disappointed," Chelsie adds. "We worked really hard on this dance and you hope you will get good remarks from the judges, especially when you put in the work, and I thought it was one of Roshon's best dances! So it kinda sucks, but it is what it is."
But bounce-backs happen all the time on DWTS. One couple that knows a thing or two about that is last week's duel champs, Jaleel White and partner Kym Johnson. They ended the night with the second highest score and were elated to be back on the right dance track.
"We are the comeback kids!" Kym tells us. "We went to the bottom and were nearly out of the show last week in the dance duel. To come back and get top scores is just incredible. Being in the dance duel gave us a different appreciation."
Says Jaleel: "Once you've been there, you know, it lurks," Jaleel says. "I felt like Russell Crowe in Gladiator. I just felt like screaming to the audience 'Are you not entertained?' "
Another elimination is looming, who do you think should go home? Who are you voting for? Let us know in the comments!

The Vampire Diaries First Look: May Sweeps Artwork Teases Elena's Future!

The Vampire Diaries, Nina Dobrev
A choice is coming. A choice that will change everything.
The third season of The Vampire Diaries has been building towards Elena's (Nina Dobrev) decision between Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and fans will see their heroine finally make that choice in just a few weeks. Gotta love finale season!
We've got your exclusive first look at the hot new poster the CW has released promoting TVD's May finale. So what did we take away from the artwork? Let's take a look...

Iron Man 3: Robert Downey Jr.'s Got a New Lady in His Sights—Should Gwyneth Paltrow Be Worried?

Jessica Chastain, Iron Man
Superbabe showdown!
Robert Downey Jr.'s Iron Man has already got his leading lady: Pepper Potts, played by Gwyneth Paltrow. But the possible arrival of a nemesis for her man's attention could force Gwynnie to brush up on her fighting skills.
Per Deadline, The Help's Jessica Chastain is in talks to join the growing cast of Iron Man 3, and the ubiquitous actress should know a thing or two about superheroics: She starred in six films last year—and even nabbed an Oscar nom for Best Supporting Actress for The Help.
But whom will Chastain be playing?
Chastain will reportedly take on the role of a "sexy scientist" who'll conceivably go toe-to-toe (or is it brain-to-brain?) with Downey's genius Iron Man alter ego, Tony Stark.
It seems the actress was offered the role before, but scheduling snafus kept her from committing to the project. Producers supposedly considered Diane Kruger and Isla Fisher for the part, but an unexpected opening in Chastain's shooting schedule has now catapulted her back into the Iron Man fray.
She's the latest A-lister to circle the project, following news that Ben Kingsley is close to signing on as the film's villain. (Exactly which villaIn he'll play has inspired its own guessing game.)
The Shane Black-directed flick, which reportedly starts shooting in five weeks in North Carolina, is shaping up to have an ultra-prestigious cast that includes two Oscar winners (Paltrow and Kingsley) and three Oscar nominees (Downey, Chastain and Don Cheadle).
Already, the blogososphere is abuzz about the film's plot, and the reigning theory among fanboys is that the flick will be based on the 2005 "Extremis" comic book storyline, in which a scientist creates a drug that bestows superhuman abilites on its subjects.
That about makes sense, since it was recently announced that Guy Pearce would be joining the cast...as a geneticist. Bingo!
The flick doesn't hit theaters until May 3, 2013, but you'll at least be able to get some kind of Iron Man fix in the meantime: The metalhead pops up next week in The Avengers, whose early reviews are looking really, well, super!

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West Step Out Holding Hands: Now Is It Official?

Kanye West, Kim Kardashian
Kinda makes moot any overanalyzation of her jewelry choices now, doesn't it?
While Kim Kardashian and Kanye West certainly like to keep us guessing, they seemingly all but came out with it last night, going public and proudly showing off their new relationship for all the world (or at least the world's paparazzi) to see by holding hands while leaving the opening celebrations of Scott Disick's new restaurant in New York.
And it seems their handsy behavior wasn't an outside-only endeavor.
Inside, the duo seemingly got just as cozy, as Kanye draped his arm across the reality star while they sidled up to Disick and Kourtney Kardashian.

Dakota Fanning Confuses Vanity Fair Party for Heaven and Wears Golden Halo, Looks Legit Crazy

Dakota Fanning
We've heard she's a good girl, but this is a bit much.
Dakota Fanning showed up to the 2012 Tribeca Film Festival Vanity Fair launch party held at the State Supreme Courthouse in NYC yesterday in an adorable bright pink, silk taffeta mini-dress, simple nude pumps and a very unexpected golden halo atop her head.
Such a pretty outfit, but that headgear just doesn't serve any purpose unless it's attached to braces.
Maybe this has something to do with that interview she recently gave...
"I try to do different things all the time," Fanning told Us Magazine. "I try not to rely on trends. I think you just kind of work with what works for you." Well, babe, that headpiece would be one of those things that doesn't work. It's OK, honey, you live and learn.
The freshly 18-year-old Twilight star has the honor of attending the festival not just as a guest, but as one of the 39 jurors who help choose the fest's winners. It's a clutch spot, seeing as fellow jurors include Susan SarandonWhoopi Goldberg and Michael Moore.
Her most recent film, Now Is Good, co-starring Jeremy Irvine opens May 25 in the UK.
And as for when to take off that halo? Now is good.

Reese Witherspoon Shows Off Baby Bump in Snug Dress

REESE WITHERSPOON

If you got it, flaunt it.
Especially if you're Reese Witherspoon workin' a supercute baby bump.
The This Means War actress was in L.A. yesterday, embracing her growing bun in the oven by wearing a snug, gray jersey dress with gold accessories.
Who says you're restricted to flowy tops and maxi dresses for nine months?
Reese has joined many other preggo stars—like Kristin Cavallari and Uma Thurmanin rockin' some figure-hugging wardrobe selections, along with the occasional loose-fitted clothes.
And why shouldn't she? Witherspoon looks great!
But even so, we can't wait until the pregnancy's over so we can see the precious li'l baby's face.

Jennifer Morrison Ditches Blonde Locks for Fiery Red Hair—Hot or Not?

Jennifer Morrison
Jennifer Morrison debuted her fiery red hair at Us Weekly's Hot Hollywood party Wednesday night in West Hollywood, Calif.
The 33-year-old Once Upon a Time star ditched her trademark long blonde locks for a deep auburn hue. The actress paired her new 'do with a bold red lip and classically elegant LBD.
So why did Morrison switch up her look?
"I'm doing a film called Some Girls, so I've had red hair for 24 hours now," she told Us Weekly.
She was honored at the fête for her classic, ladylike style. "It actually meant quite a lot to me," she said. "I tend to dress as comfortably as possible and in things that I really like, and so the fact that other people like them too is really cool."
What do you think of Jennifer as a redhead? Weigh in below in the comments.

Katy Perry

Katy Perry popped—almost all the way out—at the 2012 ASCAP Pop Music Awards at the Renaissance Hotel in Hollywood last night.
The "Part Of Me" songstress looked like the cleaned up version of her Coachella flower girl self in an ivory Temperley, art deco-style, lace gown and floral wreath atop her newly extended purple locks.
It's a beautiful look, now if only...
The ex-Mrs. Russell Brand had figured out how to keep that damn strap on her shoulder—we don't need to see that part of her!
It was a great night for the 28-year-old singer and her producing trio Max MartinDr. Luke and Ammo. Perry earned a trophy for her hit song "E.T." and Martin—who wrote "California Gurls" and "Teenage Dream"—took home the award for Songwriter of the Year.
We're glad they gave her an award—our gal-pal works hard! If someone could hand her some double stick tape we'd be all set.

Selena Gomez Performs in Sexy Lace Boots—Is This What Happens When You Date Justin Bieber?

Selena Gomez
Selena Gomez hit the stage yesterday for a surprise performance at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood for a VEVO GO Show—what a lucky audience!
Though, she was looking less like the adorable teenage star we know and more like the gorgeous grownup starlet she's becoming!
The 19-year-old looked fresh and stunning in a flowy, handkerchief edge, black chiffon dress, sparkly waistcoat and a fabulous pair of lacy, knee-high, peep-toe Louboutin boots. Va-va-voom!
Wondering where her boy-toy Justin Bieber was?
Hiding in those boots! Just kidding—he was not in attendance. But the two were seen on Tuesday night sharing a smooch at the Lakers vs. Spurs game at the Staples Center. Aww...
The equally gorgeous and gracious singer, actress and Unicef supporter tweeted to her fans, "Thanks to everyone who came out to the El Captain today for the premiere of the new video for 'Hit the Lights'…" What a nice girl.
With manners like that, we'll let the typo slide…

U.S. vs. U.K.: Who Has the Hotter Summer Olympic Uniforms

U.S. Olympic Team Uniforms, Ralph Lauren, U.K. Olympic Team Uniforms, Stella McCartney
The Summer Olympics are still months away, but it's never too early to heat up the rivalries between the participating countries!
Going for the gold in the first round of competition: the U.S. vs. the U.K. for official Olympic outfits.
This morning, the USA's official Polo Ralph Lauren-designed closing ceremony outfits were revealed on the Today show. The models shows off white shorts, polo tops and mid-length skirts that looked all-American, yacht appropriate and featured the Polo logo, of course.
How does the collection stack up against the U.K.'s gear?
British designer Stella McCartney also recently unveiled her collection for the U.K.'s Olympic team. Paul's daughter created the entire range of athletic wear, including tennis, gymnastics and cycling uniforms, to name a few.
McCartney dished about the design process: "The first place to start on a project like this is to look at the Union flag. For me, it's one of the most beautiful flags in the world and it was important for me to stay true to that iconic design but also to modernize it and present it in a contemporary way."
Which country takes the gold and which will have to settle for silver in this competition?

Jennifer Lawrence Shakes Her Groove Thing on Spanish TV Show

Jennifer Lawrence
We love when celebs express themselves through an impromptu dance break.
When Jennifer Lawrence is Katniss, she's hard-core, intense and super badass with a bow and arrow. But when Lawrence is, well, herself, she's a fun dance machine.
At least that's what we saw from her appearance on El Hormiguero.
The Hunger Games star stopped by the Spanish TV show, and as much as we'd love to say she shocked us all with a traditional flamenco dance, she didn't.
But that doesn't matter, because she did show off some of her dance skills—which judging by the picture are similar to The Twist—and looked amazing doing it, so for that, we say—you go girl.
Once again, Jennifer has proven that she is not the shy type, and that's why we love her.
Now excuse us, we got the sudden urge to bust a move.

Is Miley Cyrus' New Movie Being Buried Because of The Hunger Games?!

Miley Cyrus, Jennifer LawrenceLionsgate
Why is Miley Cyrus's new movie being buried? Does it have anything to do with Hunger Games?
—Harp00n, via the inbox
If you're looking for somebody to start a feud between Miley Cyrus and Jennifer Lawrence—well, sure, why not?
It's all Lawrence's fault. Let the Twitter war commence.
So yes, Cyrus's new movie with Demi MooreLOL, is clearly being buried by Lionsgate. And blaming the studio's megahit The Hunger Games may not be all that off base:

London 2012: Alfred Hitchcock silent films to be celebrated by BFI

A scene from Blackmail (1929)Some of Hitchcock's earliest works will be shown
The British Film Institute has revealed details of its celebration of film-maker Alfred Hitchcock, which includes restorations of his silent movies.
Champagne and Blackmail, which were directed by the British master of suspense during the late 1920s, will be shown with live musical accompaniment.
A three-month long season will also see all 58 of his films - including Psycho, Vertigo and The Birds - screened.
Actors Tippi Hedren and Bruce Dern will also take part in live events.
Speaking at a launch in London on Tuesday, Heather Stewart, the BFI's creative director, said that the BFI had wanted to get out its "big guns", like other big cultural organisations, during Olympic year.
"The idea of popular cinema somehow being capable of being great art at the same time as being entertaining is still a problem for some people," she said. "Shakespeare is on the national curriculum, Hitchcock is not."
She said that in the same way that Picasso had changed the face of modern art, Hitchcock was also a game-changer. "After Psycho, in particular, film-making could never be the same again."
An open-air screening of Blackmail, directed by the 30-year-old Hitchcock in 1929, will be staged in the forecourt of the British Museum on 6 July as part of the BFI's involvement in the London 2012 Festival celebrations.
The film will feature a live score by award-winning composer, musician, writer and broadcaster Neil Brand, performed live by an ensemble of 18 musicians.
A short clip of Blackmail was screened at The Genius of Hitchcock launch event, accompanied by the new score.
Describing Hitchcock as an "incredibly seductive" film-maker, Brand said he had not tried to replicate the music of the silent era. "This is for an audience now."
Hitchcock's 1927 boxing drama The Ring will be shown at the Hackney Empire, with jazz and hip hop artist Soweto Kinch providing live music and fellow Mercury prize nominee Nitin Sawhney will score The Lodger: A Tale Of The London Fog.
After performing a live saxophone solo over a clip from The Ring, Kinch said: "The dance sequences in this film have travelled really well with time. There's a particular beat and a tempo that means I'll be able to twin the old with the new."
Film critic and chairman of the London Film Critics' Circle Jason Solomons said of the Hitchcock retrospective: "What strikes me is the modernity of the project. We're seeing him now as a cool indie British film-maker."

He added: "Music is the first step to reframing how we see cinema. There are different strains of world music and it proves that his films belong to all of us."
Both The Ring and Champagne will be screened live on The Space - a digital arts service which has been developed by Arts Council England in partnership with the BBC and BFI.
Ruth Mackenzie, director of the London 2012 Festival, told the BBC: "Alfred Hitchcock is one of the great artists of the 20th Century and like all great artists he makes us look at the world differently - and he makes his art form transform itself after his input."
The BFI on London's South Bank will also house an exhibition paying tribute to Hitchcock, who died aged 80 in 1980.
Over his career, spanning six decades, the director was nominated for five Oscars - but won just one honorary statuette, in 1968.

Happy Birthday, Miranda Kerr! Model Mom Turns 29

Miranda Kerr, Flynn Bloom
Some girls have all the luck. And chief among them is birthday girl Miranda Kerr!
Today, this model mama, wife and, well, model, turns the ripe not-so-old age of 29. What does she have to show for her nearly three decades? Plenty, as it turns out!
In addition to being one of Hollywood's most doting mothers—to cutie-pie tot Flynn—and loving wife of movie star Orlando Bloom, Miranda is the Victoria's Secret angel who's flown higher than ever this year, from being named one of Australia's most beautiful people (we can't imagine that deliberation took very long) to returning to the runway after giving birth to her little boy and even proving to be one of the world's paparazzi's most reliable sources of eye candy.
Can't wait to see what Miranda's new year holds—in the meantime, take a look back at her most aw-worthy family moments with the two equally adorable (albeit for two very different reasons) men in her life.

Why Shouldn't a Woman Direct Catching Fire?

The Hunger Games, Movie
Well this certainly wouldn't please Katniss. Or any of the other badass women of Panem (like Johanna Mason or even President Coin) that show that ladies can do anything men can do—maybe even better.
While reports have been hitting the net—ever since Gary Ross turned down the opportunity to helm the sequel to The Hunger Games—that allegedly reveal the directors Lionsgate is eyeing, we can't help but notice the list is so very...male.
And that's just plain wrong. Why shouldn't a woman direct Catching Fire?!

Hunger Games' Josh Hutcherson Opens Up on Gay Rights: "I Had Two Uncles Die From AIDS" Read more: http://www.eonline.com/news/marc_malkin/hunger_games_josh_hutcherson_opens_up/309766#ixzz1sVK33yb3

Josh Hutcherson
Hunger Games star Josh Hutcherson had two uncles he never got to know.
Both men were gay and died from AIDS during the height of the epidemic…
"They were in their early thirties, in great shape, but unfortunately they were taken away from us too soon," the 19-year-old actor exclusively told me Wednesday. "Both passed away at about the time I was born."
But they have never been forgotten.
Hutcherson has become one of Hollywood's most outspoken supporters in the fight for gay equal rights. He works closely with Straight But Not Narrow, a group started by his best friend, Victorious star Avan Jogia.
"My mom has always been a big advocate, especially in the gay, lesbian, transsexual and bisexual community so for me it's always been a part of my soul," Hutcherson says.
He recalls a letter that Straight But Not Narrow received from a 14-year-old high school freshman in Florida. "He was in this very right wing and religious sort of area and he sent a letter saying how SBNN changed his life and how he was able to feel more comfortable coming out to his friends," Hutcherson says. "I was almost bawling reading it. That makes all our work worth it."
On Saturday, Hutcherson will be become the youngest recipient of the Vanguard Award at the GLAAD Media Awards in Los Angeles. He joins a stellar list of past honorees, including Elizabeth TaylorCharlize Theron and Janet Jackson.
"This is what my family is most proud of and the same for me," Hutcherson says. "Acting is one thing, but actually trying to change the world and the way people think to make people's lives better? That's the stuff I'm most proud of."
When I ask if he thinks his uncles are looking down at him, Hutcherson says, "I'm not a religious person in that sense. But at the same time I do believe in some sort of something, just not sure exactly. But yeah, I'd like to think that they see what I'm doing and that they're proud of me."
No doubt they are.

Did you really think American Idol's top seven contestants would play it safe after Jessica Sanchez's almost-elimination last week? Oh, you did? That's so sweet!
The seven remaining contestants each took on two songs during last night's "Now and Then"-themed live performance show and once again proved that they are without a doubt one of Idol's most talented seasons ever. Seriously, what's in the water this year?!
Still, one person will definitely be going home tonight (the save is gone, remember!), So who do we think is in danger of getting booted? And who really impressed us?

Sherra Whitfield, The Real Housewives of Atlanta

The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Sheree Whitfield is saying bye-bye to the series that made her a household name.
"After four solid seasons of helping Bravo build the show into its most successful Housewives franchise, I have decided to leave," Whitfield told Wetpaint Entertainment. "The direction the show is going in is no longer a fit for my lifestyle. I'm tired of the fighting and the cattiness."

Anna Paquin
Anna Paquin isn't ready to flaunt her baby bump just yet.
Just after confirming to E! News that she and hubby Stephen Moyer are expecting their first child, the 29-year-old True Blood star was spotted out and about Wednesday morning in Beverly Hills.
Wearing an all black ensemble and oversize sunglasses, Paquin pulled her bag in front of her belly and wore a loose cardigan to keep her silhouette hidden.

"They are so excited and can't wait," a source told E! News. "Anna is very happy that she is going to be a mom, and Stephen is extremely excited."
The small-screen lovers said "I do" in real life in 2010.  In addition to the baby on the way, Moyer has a son, Billy, and daughter, Lilac, from previous relationships.

Kim Kardashian for Mayor?! Reality Star Clarifies Political Ambitions, Vows to "Do Her Part" Read more: http://www.eonline.com/news/kim_kardashian_mayor_reality_star/310024#ixzz1sVHxUFmg

Kim Kardashian
Kim Kardashian has already achieved global domination. So why wouldn't she want to make her powers official and try her hand at governing a city?
Earlier this week, Kim made headlines when she seemingly casually referenced plans to pursue a mayoral run for the city of Glendale, telling her sister Khloé Kardashian Odom in a clip from Khloé and Lamar that she'd decided to throw her hat into the political arena and had every intention of being in office in five years' time.
Hey, stranger things have happened. Plus, she's already scored her first endorsement in the form of a Glendale city councilman. And as if that weren't enough of a boon, we suspect a certain good friend of the reality star's wouldn't be averse to giving a pointer or two on how to, well, run that town.
But was Kim really serious?
MORE: Could Kim Kardashian really run for mayor?
Play Kardashian KingdomWell, time will tell if her political aspirations fizzle out, but she was certainly serious about one thing: becoming a standout citizen and pillar in her community (whichever that community may end up being).
"Kim has always looked for opportunities to grow and also do what she can to help and support the Armenian community," her rep told E! News. In explaining her political ambitions to her sister, she declared that she wanted to move to the Los Angeles suburb soon in order to gain residency in the city, where a large percentage of the current population shares the Kardashian family's Armenian roots.
"She's learning more about ways in which she can help to do her part to make a difference in the community," the rep said.
And if one of those paths should happen to lead to the mayor's mansion, so be it! And hey, if that didn't get out the vote, nothing would.

The Lucky One: Film Review

The Lucky One Zac Efron Beth Green - H 2012

The Bottom Line

Zac Efron makes his debut as a hunk in this bland Nicholas Sparks romantic concoction.
Cast:
Zac Efron, Taylor Schilling, Blythe Danner, Riley Thomas Stewart, Jay R. Ferguson, Adam LeFevre
Director:
Scott Hicks

This latest Nicholas Sparks adaptation features Zac Efron as a humble, brawny Marine vet who returns home from the Middle East to find love at a dog kennel.

Maybe you can't fool all the people all the time, but novelist Nicholas Sparks sure has a lot of them hoodwinked with his run of drearily predictable stories of love and fate. Producer Denise Di Novihas enjoyed similar success with big-screen adaptations of the writer's work and the commercial winning streak will likely continue in moderate fashion with their fourth joint outing, the stubbornly soggy The Lucky One. The main point of interest here is that Zac Efron, perhaps concerned that he wasn't getting parts that were going to Channing Tatum and Taylor Lautner, has seriously bulked up to play a somber Marine vet who returns home from the Middle East to find love at a dog kennel.
In a war zone no bigger than a corner of a studio back lot, Efron's Sgt. Logan Thibault survives a firefight in which others near him are killed. On the ground he later finds a photograph of a pretty young woman bearing the inscription “Keep Safe” and, once back home, resolves to track her down, whoever and wherever she is.Embalming the simple and simplistic yarn in an amber glow that is all but suffocating and banishing from it any traces of humor and spontaneity, director Scott Hicks (can it have been 16 years since Shine?) serves up this treacly tale with absolutely no trace of self-consciousness about the material's cliches or simple-mindedness; perhaps that's as it must be, so that it may play for the intended audience. But nearly every scene is presented in a manner so as to maximize its clunkiness and conventionality, with the visual coverage thuddingly apparent in the far-too-frequent cutting among the many perspectives from which any given sequence has been shot. There's no dramatic or visual scheme here, just random camera angles tossed and mixed.
With scant evidence, he finds Beth (Taylor Schilling) in rural Louisiana, running a kennel and living in a spacious and charming old home with her seven-year-old son Ben (Riley Thomas Stewart) and grandma Ellie (Blythe Danner), who hires the serious young man despite Beth's uneasiness; the man who'd been carrying her photograph was her brother. Still, with wise old Ellie gently pulling and pushing, it's obvious Beth will soon thaw to the good soldier's charms.
Not only that, but little Ben is in obvious need of a positive father figure, his real one, the local deputy sheriff (Jay R. Ferguson), being a good ol' a-hole of the first order. Whereas Logan can do everything from accompanying Ben on piano at the boy's upcoming church violin recital to deliberately losing at chess to bolster the lad's confidence, swaggering Keith mockingly whistles the Marines' Hymn at the soldier and uses his lawman position to threaten both his ex-wife and Logan.
Still, if it weren't for the threat posed by the Keith, which is so broadly drawn it would have been right at home in a silent movie melodrama, the film would possess no dramatic tension at all, so bland and preordained is the progress of the central relationship. It's all conducted in the most gradual, decorous and unsurprising manner, with Logan patiently biding his time until Beth is good and ready for the inevitable. What happens to Keith is positively Biblical, which reflects the fact that, while not specifically evangelical or pointedly religious, Sparks' stories reflect a distinctly old-fashioned morality and mindset that clearly speak to a certain portion of the public but will seem like unshucked corn to others.
Despite their inner turmoil, the characters remain bland and superficial, never expressing gut feelings when homilies about destiny and life's little surprises will do. Efron works within such a narrow range of stoical solidity that his real potential is impossible to gauge, while Schilling, who was the one somewhat good thing about last year's Atlas Shrugged—Part 1 (a film conspicuously missing from her Warner Bros. presskit bio) seems constrained as if by contagion.
It's always gorgeous and burnished gold in the Louisiana on view here, never sticky and sweaty, and none of the 20-odd bland pop songs that accompany Mark Isham's score evoke the slightest feel for the story's setting.
